Logistics Customer Service

Location: Paramaribo

Work schedule: Mon. thru Fri. 7:30 hrs. – 16:00 hrs.

We are looking for qualified candidates with experience in Logistics Customer Service.

The main scope of the responsibilities involves:

  • Assist with account start-up. Liaison with sales to ensure required documentation/information needed for the SOP is provided.
  • Assist clients in their day-by-day requests related to export/import documentation to ensure proper execution of the transportation files.
  • Provide clients with complete Flight/Sailing details to ensure proper flow in information is guaranteed.
  • Liaise with Airlines/Ocean lines/FF Agents to procure the best possible solutions (capacity and cost) to be utilized upon execution of transportation files.
  • Organizing transportation with close focus on documentation and alignment of all customers’ requests with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create files, arrange for pickup and obtain shipment documentation necessary for domestic/international transportation, liaison between parties to provide status updates.
  • Follow appropriate work instructions or checklist to create consistency and minimize errors.
  • Enter shipment and booking details into relevant internal and external systems/platforms in a timely and accurate manner, submit all required documentation from the system (i.e., Master, AES, ACI, EDI, booking confirmations, etc.) and prepare House B/L,
  • Use approved external providers as necessary to arrange transportation of goods. Quickly resolve any miscommunication and disputes to ensure safe on-time deliveries.
  • Ensure safe transport execution in line with official requirements.
  • Report on weekly activities, KPI’s and commercial follow-up and/or campaigns

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Understanding of Surinamese Import/ Export regulations (E-Manifest, Asycuda, Carriers & NVO
    platforms, Customs request services, etc.
  • Strong customer service skills, proactivity and be a team player.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in PC and MS Office applications
  • Ability to communicate with clients, carriers, other forwarders, vendors.
  • Assist with shipments from open to close. Must be able to handle the day-to-day operational activities and close out the file in accounting
